A substantial tree that would be easy to overlook. New Zealand has many world beaters of this species throughout the country, this tree could well be in that class. Other very large trees include the 1984 national champion located near Geraldine (Ht: 48.7m, DBH: 245cm) and the Mount Peel Station Tree (Ht: 50.1m DBH: 268cm) 'Great Trees of NZ', Burstall and Sale 1984 pg. 218.
