General Notes:
A large old kahikatea found on the trig track at Otanewainuku forest near Oropi, Bay of Plenty. This tall tree is passed as one walks clockwise along the trig track from the track entrance off Mountain Road. An impressive forest with some spectacular rimu and many broadleaf species. Birdlife is very impressive, Karearea was heard on this walk. Whitehead, Bellbird, Tui, Kereru, Fantail, Robin and Tomtit were either seen or heard.
