This cedar is dedicated to Sapper, Harold B. Jellyman, who was killed in action at the age of 22 on 16 February 1917 at Messines, Belgium. He is buried at Brewery Orchard Cemetery, Bois-Grenier, France.
The tree was planted along with others in conjunction with the unveiling of the Stoke First World War Memorial Gates in 1924 commemorating the lives of 7 Stoke men "who made the supreme sacrifice in the Great War".
