Tree Information x

Identifier: WTR/1948
Tree Type: Single
Registered By: Lloyd, M.
Registration Category: General tree/s
General Notes:
This red flowering gum is one of three outside the Old Government Buildings, one of New Zealand’s most historic buildings. It is still one of the largest wooden buildings in the world, attracting much tourist attention. As the photos show, whereas the gum is not particularly tall it is a prolific flowerer with particularly intense colour, also adding to the photogenic nature of the site. This one also grows beside a statue of Peter Fraser, former New Zealand prime minister (Lloyd, M, 2024).
