General Notes:
The current owner, Mrs Therese Mooren, planted the cherry in the early 1960's just after the house was built. It has been the focal point of the rear garden for her family ever since and provides year round interest (Bishop, J.J., 2021).

Further notes:
Therese Mooren was born in Holland and emigrated to New Zealand in 1957. She is the founder of Maison Therese.

She started producing in her kitchen at home, that is how the name ‘Maison Therese’ was derived, ‘Maison’ meaning ‘the house’. Maison Therese produced its first jar of pickled Onions and Gherkins at this location in 1965 and has been preserving favourite New Zealand flavours ever since (www.maisontherese.nz)
