This large tōtara can be seen in Claremont Bush, about 10km from Timaru city. Claremont Bush has benefited from recent predator and weed control. Nearby is a lovely tall young matai tree with a 1.85 m girth. The bush was alive with birdsong, bellbird, brown creeper, gray warbler, fantail and rifleman (Barker, K. P., 2019).
