This tree was found by Phil Barker, Kevin Barker and Euan Mason while we were on a tree hunting expedition last Wednesday, December 18th 2019. It has a huge buttress, and so we measured the stem diameter above the buttress. It towers above its neighbours, and appears to be the largest known Kahikatea (Mason, E. G., 2019).
