Tree Information x

Identifier: AR/1583
Tree Type: Single
Registered By: Barker, K. P.
Registration Category: Notable tree/s – Local interest
General Notes:
A tree that was not logged when timber was removed in the 19th C. This tree is in bush, on a steep hillside, not far from the entrance. A member of the Duder family recalls two adults could encircle the girth of this tree just after WW2. This tree is probably the largest Kauri in this splendid regional Park.
Girth, Height and Crown spread are conservative estimates as we did not want to get too close to this lovely Kauri. I was able to sight the trunk and measure trunk as 11.5 m to a small branch and the trunk continued above 16.5 m where the branches start to spread (Barker, K. P., 2019).
