The Bradley family became associated with this property in 1859 where it was developed as an early pioneering farm. In 1892 following the death of his father, Orton Bradley, the eldest of 9 children took over the running of the farm.
Orton was passionate about trees and in the late nineteenth and early twentieth century planted 150 species from around the globe. The fine old specimen trees in the vicinity of the former homestead and farm buildings were planted by him. In 1943 at the age of 86 Orton Bradley died leaving the property in trust. Today Orton Bradley Park is a private farm park run by a body corporate for the enjoyment of all people[1]. (Cadwallader, B.G. 2015). Reference 1) Orton Bradley Park Website.
