This very large tōtara is situated on private farmland near the village of Mount Peel, South Canterbury. This part of the farm is un-fenced forest consisting of invasive sycamore trees and large remnant tōtara, kahikatea and matai trees. This tree is the largest of three big tōtara in this block of land. It is an impressive sight (Barker K.P, 2020).
